Innova Star Eagle 7 | 4 | -1 | 3

The Star Eagle is Innova's original pro fairway driver in their grippy, durable Star plastic. It flies straight with a little drift when you throw it hard and fades back at the end. Star plastic gives you a better grip than Champion, especially when it's wet or cold. See every Eagle we stock in the Innova Eagle Collection Hub or shop our full fairway driver collection.

Flight Numbers

At 7 | 4 | -1 | 3, the Eagle is a stable fairway driver that's easy to control. The 7 speed means you don't have to throw it as hard as a distance driver, and the 4 glide carries it a good distance without floating away. The -1 turn gives it a little drift when you throw it hard and flat, and the 3 fade brings it back with a dependable finish at the end.

Speed Glide Turn Fade
7 4 -1 3

The Eagle delivers:

  • Straight, Controllable Flight: Throw it flat and it flies straight with just a little drift before it starts to fade.
  • Reliable Fade: The 3 fade brings it back at the end every time, so you know where it's going to land.
  • Holds Any Angle: It holds hyzer lines well and can handle a little anhyzer when you need to shape a shot.

It excels at:

  • Tight fairways and wooded holes where control matters more than distance
  • Hyzer lines and shots that need to finish left (for right-handed backhand)
  • Forehand drives for players who want a stable, predictable fairway driver

The Star Plastic Advantage

Star is Innova's grippy premium plastic. It's opaque, a little more flexible than Champion, and it holds well in the hand in rain, sweat and cold weather. It's almost as durable as Champion but seasons a touch faster, so a Star Eagle slowly gets a little straighter over time, which a lot of players like.

How the Eagle Fits in the Innova Lineup

  • Vs the Halo Star Eagle L: The limited Fourth of July Eagle L in grippy Halo Star plastic. This run is noticeably flat.
  • Vs the Champion Eagle: Same mold and flight numbers. Firm, translucent and the most durable Eagle. It holds its stability the longest.
  • Vs the DUO Eagle: Calvin Heimburg's 2026 Tour Series. A flatter, stiffer run that's more overstable than stock.
  • Vs the Proto Glow Champion Eagle: Gregg Barsby's 2026 Tour Series in glow Champion plastic, great for night rounds.
  • Vs the Innova Champion Teebird: The Teebird (7 | 5 | 0 | 2) has more glide and less turn, so it flies straighter and floats a little more. The Eagle has a bit more turn and a stronger fade.
  • Vs the Innova Champion Firebird: The Firebird (9 | 3 | 0 | 4) is faster and much more overstable. It's the one for headwinds and hard forehands when the Eagle isn't enough.
  • Vs the Discraft Stalker: The Stalker (7 | 5 | -1 | 2) is another 7 speed control driver. It has a bit more glide and a softer finish, while the Eagle fades back harder at the end.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Innova Eagle

How does the Innova Star Eagle feel in the hand?

The Eagle is 21.2 cm across and 1.6 cm tall with a 1.2 cm rim depth and a 1.7 cm wide rim, so it feels slim and comfortable for a fairway driver. Most stock Eagles come from the X mold, which has a small bead along the bottom edge of the rim. Star plastic is grippy and a little softer, so it feels secure in the hand even when it's wet.

How does the Innova Star Eagle handle wind and power?

It handles a normal breeze and a hard throw well. The -1 turn gives it a little drift when you throw it flat and hard, and the 3 fade brings it back at the end. In real headwinds it can turn a bit more, so step up to something like a Firebird when the wind picks up.

Does the Innova Star Eagle break in over time?

Yes, a little faster than Champion. Over time it gets a touch more turn and a softer fade, which makes a seasoned Star Eagle a great straight-to-stable fairway driver.
