Flight Numbers & Performance
The Mayhem operates on official flight ratings of Speed: 13, Glide: 5, Turn: -1.5, and Fade: 2. It features a pronounced dome that provides exceptional glide, keeping the disc suspended in the air longer for maximum downfield carry.
| Speed | Glide | Turn | Fade |
|---|---|---|---|
| 13 | 5 | -1.5 | 2 |
How the Neutron Mayhem handles off the tee:
- Long S-Curves: For power throwers, the -1.5 turn allows the disc to drift right (for RHBH throws) before the reliable 2 fade brings it safely back to center, maximizing total distance.
- Hyzer-Flip Bomber: Released on a slight hyzer angle, the Mayhem flips to flat beautifully, riding straight for hundreds of feet before a predictable forward-pushing finish.
- GYRO Tech: The high-density outer rim pushes the disc's weight to the outside edge, increasing gyroscopic inertia to keep the Mayhem spinning longer and resisting wind disruption.
The Neutron Plastic Advantage
Axiom’s Neutron plastic is a premium, opaque blend that delivers an incredible combination of vibrant aesthetics, long-lasting durability, and a highly dependable grip. It offers an excellent feel in the hand across all weather conditions and is highly resistant to tree kicks, ensuring your Mayhem retains its workable flight characteristics for a very long time. Frequently Asked Questions
Who should throw the Axiom Mayhem?
The Mayhem is highly recommended for intermediate to advanced players who have developed enough arm speed to handle a 13-speed driver. For power throwers, it acts as a workable, max-distance hyzer-flip disc. For lower-power arms, it offers a long, controllable flight path with a dependable fade.
How does the Mayhem compare to the MVP Octane?
Both discs reside in the 23mm high-speed class. While the Octane (13/5/-1/2) is slightly more stable out of the box, the Mayhem (13/5/-1.5/2) essentially flies like a perfectly "beat-in" Octane right off the shelf, offering a bit more turn and easier distance.
